Wanda Lee Rice, 89, Oblong, IL passed away on Sunday September 2, 2018 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.
She was born in Hunt City, IL on March 31, 1929. She was the daughter of Jasper and Vivian (Bailey) Dillman. On August 13, 1947 she married Everette “Max” Rice who survives.
Wanda was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1947. She was a receptionist for Dr. Lewis and then Dr. Bernard Slaughter Dentist Office in Oblong, IL for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and read for as long as her health allowed.
Wanda is survived by her husband of seventy one year’s Max Rice of Oblong, IL; a son Mike Rice of Stoy, IL; two grandchildren Jay Dee Rice of Stoy, IL and Kimberly and Clayton Basham of Mattoon, IL; and two great-grandchildren Hunter and Hayden Basham of Mattoon, IL.
Preceding her in death were her parents Jasper and Vivian Dillman.
It was Wanda’s wish to be cremated with no visitation or service. Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment of cremated remains will be in Mound Cemetery.
